Health and Nutrition are like the sun and the moon. Both are extremely important in order for things to function well.

I DO NOT believe in the following: counting calories, scales, "diet/low fat" foods, fad diets, unhealthy weight loss, emotional/stress eating. However at one time, I did try all of these and from experience I can honestly tell you NONE of these things will help you in becoming healthy.
You do not need to count calories, as humans, we were designed with hunger and fullness cues to know how to fuel our bodies.
You do not need a scale to weigh yourself, you should be able to tell by the ways your clothes fit whether you are the right weight.
You do not need diet foods - they will only make you fatter or more unhealthy
You do not need fad diets- they will make you unhealthy physically & emotionally
You do not need fast weight loss - it will not last.
You do not need emotional eating- although it may help at the moment, it will not help whatever the real problem/situation is.

If you are on a diet you will not find what you are looking for on this blog. BUT that is because I strongly believe in live-its. You may have never heard this term before.. but that is okay because now you can be informed on how to start living your life.

Live-it (noun) - a lifestyle designed to help you be healthy: mentally, spiritually, and of course physically. A live-it is for those who want to live life to the fullest, so if you're ready to stop die-ting and start living, this plan is for you! 

Now I don't know about you, but I certainly do not want to be on a die-t. Don't die-t, LIVE-IT.

A live-it is about nourishing your body to be able to live! It's so SAD(standard american diet) how unhealthy the lifestyles of so many americans are. If you're ready for a change or if you are simply trying to maintain your healthy lifestyle, my blog will definitely help you.

 All of my recipes are meant to nourish your body and make you feel great. However, everything comes with moderation. Part one of any live-it is finding out exactly what your body needs. It is so important to listen to your body because we are the only ones that really know what are body needs. It is very very important to eat when your body needs to be nourished, and stop when your body is full. So you need to remember, what might work for one person, may not work for another. This is simply because we were all created differently. NO ONE is exactly the same is you, which is why it is sad in our society today to see so many people trying to be like someone else. BE YOURSELF, because there is no one else like you. 

Anyways, back to the live-it. If you want to feel great, you need to take care of your body. & I mean REALLY take care of it. 

Chew. Chew. Chew. - very very simple yet so many people don't realize how important it is. Chewing, and I mean really CHEWING the food you eat, changed my life. So part two of you're live-it is remembering to really chew everything you eat. Ultimately, this will help you be able to feel when you are full.

Part three would definitely be the choices you make: food & exercise. 
The choices YOU make MATTER!! Every little choice, it all matters. Which is why it is soooooo very important that you make the right choices because it really can be a matter of life or death.
So choose wisely. 

I AM NOT A DOCTOR. But I do know a lot about nutrition, exercise, and what our bodies as humans need.

I follow a 99% vegan diet(I sometimes use honey) because of all the research I have done about the human body and how food  affects it. This is what I have found to be best for my body, but remember, what may work for me, may not work for you. So I recommend finding a live-it lifestyle that works for you. There is no easy "eat this, don't eat that" plan that works for everyone, so it's up to us individually to find what works for our bodies. 

However, I have found that research shows that humans seem to thrive on vegan diets. This means humans are designed to eat lots of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and nuts and beans. A whole, organic plant based live-it seems to be most beneficial for our bodies.

Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or eat meat, I hope you find my blog very helpful in your live-it journey.

Sweetners/ Sugars

Most people are aware of the harms from high frutose corn syrup and artificial sweetners but some don't realize the harmful effects of other sweetners. Below is information about making a healthy choice in choosing the best sweetners/sugars to fuel your body and bring pleasure! Source: Healing with Whole Foods

Worst Choices:
  • Artificial Sweetners (aspartame, sorbitol, etc.)
  • High Frutose corn syrup
  • Refined White sugar
These above have been found to cause cancer & many other health problens & your body cannot metabolize these harmful substances, so they are most likey stored as fat.

Also Harmful:
  • Blackstrap molasses (comes from refined sugar)
  • Raw Sugar (this includes turbinado and cane juice)
Honey is also not a good choice because it is highly refined. Although raw honey is an excelent choice!
This is because there are natural enzymes, vitamins, and healing properties in raw honey. Raw honey has also been shown to help weight loss by destroying fat cells and cleansing the vascular system.

Best Choices:(no specific order)
  • 100% pure maple syrup
  • Agave Nectar
  • Stevia
  • Raw honey
  • Fruits
  • Brown rice syrup
  • Date sugar

Sucant (no nutritional benefits but best way to buy and use sugar) It is sugar cane in its original state, unprocessed.

Note: Any and all sweetners should be used sparingly.
